As I previously wrote, I went to Italy because I got accepted to the Vatican Observatory Summer School 2007 (VOSS) and it took place on a little town called Castel Gandolfo.
While I was there, I lived in a hotel room (518 of the Castel Veccio hotel) with my roommate, an awesome girl from Venezuela. The two of us lived there alone only for a week because after, my white belgian chocolate started living with us. Yes, I know it maybe quite bizarre but it wasn't and my roommate was incredible since she accepted that he spend the night with us, well... specifically on my bed **hehehe**.
Every morning was an amazing beginning, the lake right down our terrace and next to me, the radiant beauty of my love **sigh**. Sometimes I woke up on time, some others I was late (as usual). We had breakfast at the hotel and afterwards, a 15-minute walk to the Pope's palazzo crossing the tiny downtown. The theme of the specola was "Extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs", its classes (more than classes, lectures) started at 08.30 with a coffee break around 09.45 and finishing at ~ 12.30. Lunch was served at that time and then, we were free unless there was a lecture in the evening, at 07.30. There were four projects due at the end of the school and they were meant to be made on teamwork. I really learned a lot but also had the chance to prove to myself the astronomical knowledge that I'd previously acquired and foundate even more my hunger to combine astronomy with my life's love (at least on the academic side) chemistry. Also, for the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to take a little peak of the sky through a real telescope (I have one but it's neither fancy nor sophisticated), I saw Venus next to the Moon (following picture courtesy of the Quicky).

The people over there, staff and fellow classmates, were mostly friendly and cool. I really enjoyed being there, I was really happy and I must confess that I didn't want it to end **blushes**. I took some pictures of all those amazing guys (I usually don't like taking pictures where people is included but this deserved an exception) where can be find following the next link, VOSS 2007. But if you want to see more, visit the Quicky's photography section and click on the VOSS section.
In very general terms, that's more or less what I lived during my first month of disappearance. What happend afterwards, will be in the next entries.
